Although the Octane is pitched as a running/adventure-racing pack, CamelBak has been selling it to mountain bikers as a lightweight option. We can see the appeal since most of the weight is low down, which helps with stability, and the wide, figure-hugging waist strap keeps the pack tight against your body.
The lightweight 3-d mesh straps are super breathable and there's a small pocket for a gel on one side. On the back of the Octane is a small stuff pocket and on the sides are two zippered mesh pockets; one of them contains a key fob. A twin upper pocket is big enough for a mini-pump, shock pump and tube...this is a leightweight, figure hugging pack and would even make a great race pack.
