The bulk of the shorts are made from water-resistant Nylon fabric, but there's a stretch panel at the back and the whole seat is a softer Nylon/Spandex mix. This latter felt more comfortable, fitted tighter and seemed to snag a lot less on the nose of the saddles. Liner (inner~) shorts are included and it gets a 'stretch multi-density insert,' which offers adequate cushioning. The Summit is well appointed with an adjustable waist, hip pockets and front zip vents...the Summit is definately better value for money.
