The lock mechanism itself is Abus's top-of-the-range X-Plus found on its class-leading U-locks. Made of hardened steel, it offers protection from drilling, the barrel can't be pulled and the multi-faceted design makes it difficult to pick. The mechanism itself is housed in a hardened steel casing, the same material as the 5.5mm-thick bars. The steel is exclusive to Abus and is incredibly resilient to sawing or cuttong. The rivets holding it together are made from the same hardened steel with dome ends - not only are they difficult to cut but their shape make it tricky for thieves to get any purchase when using breaking tools like a chisel or punch.
The Bordo's mulit-link design makes it easy to wrap around both bike and anchor, the lock aperture being plenty big enough to include the frame and rear wheel....the Bordo is tough, convenient and the best lock of it's type around.
