Q:
What is Pro G rubber?
A:
Pro-G is a patented rubber technology from Ashima that works equally in wet or dry conditions, giving superior braking under extreme conditions.
Q:
What do 4 Function pads do?
A:
- Crud Remove – nose ploughto remove large particles
- Water Remove – moves water away from braking surface
- Max Brake – max braking where max pressure is applied
- Rim Release – reduces squeal effect
Q:
What are the differences between disc pad compounds & do SOS compound pads work?
A:
The Ashima disc pad range covers all major brands of disc brakes. All pads are supplied with the appropriate springs and pins.
Through years of testing disc brake compounds, we have learned that:
- Each compound type has unique advantages/disadvantages
- No one compound offers exceptional braking in both hot/cold, wet/dry environments
- Generally, braking performance is offset by high disk/pad wear and or noise.
Semi-Metal Pads
Offering the best choice for UK cross country riders. The hard wearing compound ensures that they perform well all year round against the mud and crud that UK riding can involve.
Sintered Pads
Slightly harder wearing than semi-metal and offer better braking performance under high temperatures.
SOS Pads
Sintered doesn’t perform as well as Organic in the cold, and by its very nature (more than 60% metal) it generates and conducts a great deal of heat to the brake fluid.
SOS=
- 3 x less heat generation than Sintered Pads
- Cold performance of Organic Pads
- Quiet operation
- High temp performance of Sintered Pads
- Wear characteristics ofSintered
